2024EICMA: CFMOTO debuts new 209HP V4 superbike engine
CFMOTO unveils its new V.04 superbike engine

CFMOTO is no stranger when it comes to developing motorcycle engines. In fact, it is no secret that this Chinese company produces engines for many of KTM’s models, as well has technical partnerships with other more established brands in the motorcycle industry.
In this year’s edition of EICMA in Italy, CFMOTO is proud to reveal its newly-developed V-four engine that the company says will broaden its portfolio to other segments of the motorcycle market, and possibly, level up its participation in grand prix racing like the MotoGP.
209 horses
CFMOTO claims that the new 997 cc V.04 engine has an output of 209 horsepower (210 ps) at 14,500 rpm and 114 nm of torque. Also, CFMOTO developed this new 90-degree V4 engine with the idea of blending lightness and strength in the materials used, like titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, and many more.
CFMOTO also claims that it applied what it learned from its participation in grand prix races in the development of this engine, including the use of a counter-rotating crankshaft – pretty much the same in MotoGP racebike engines.
As to what bike the V.04 will power is still anyone’s guess. Most likely, it will be the racebike (and subsequent streetbike version) that will be coming out from its new concept bike dubbed as the “Master of Speed.”
