The 450MT is launched here in the Philippines.

As a Pinoy moto-journalist, I can’t help but envy the other countries as they host product launches of new motorcycles from manufacturers. I mean, these countries and an international pool of moto-journalists always get first dibs on the latest and hottest motorcycle models, but not us Filipinos. Typically, it's Portugal, USA, Italy, Thailand, or elsewhere, but never the Philippines.

CFMOTO changed that.

Just recently, CFMOTO and Motostrada held the global launch of the much-anticipated 450MT at the beautiful El Nido, Palawan. They have brought in dozens of moto journos from Australia, North and South America, and Asia.

Markus Ferch (CFMOTO VP of Sales Europe) and Carles Solsona (CFMOTO Design Director) both guided the presentation of the 450MT and fielded questions about how the bike will redefine performance and expectation in the entry-level adventure segment of the market. They also talked about the flowering international profile of CFMOTO.

“We have been one of the fastest growing powersports brands,” said Ferch. “Our company performance has improved dramatically, and our determination for our vision should take the most credit. All these years we’ve been committed to becoming a premium global powersports brand. We follow a clear strategy of globalization, electrification, and connectivity to achieve this.”

MT = Multi-function Touring

For the longest time, we’ve wondered what the “MT” stands for in the 650MT, 800MT and now the 450MT. CFMOTO’s Design Director explains: “MT, short for ‘multi-function touring’, is our product line for adventure bikes.”

“The 450MT is our first mid-sized adventure bike with strong off-road riding features. Light, rugged, and inviting; this bike is a seamless combination of fresh design with cutting-edge technology. Since the launch of 650MT, our first MT bike in 2016, the MT lineup has been well-received by the market so we will keep expanding this lineup and creating more adventures for our users worldwide,” added Solsona, who also had a hand in designing some of the finest European motorcycle models before joining CFMOTO.
